Saseka

We were spoken at 5, had some coffee and headed off for the game drive.

Within minutes we saw a leopard on the ground with a fetus of impala in the tree. When a pregnant impala is being hunted the stress can cause her to give birth - such a sad image.




She sat crunching the baby in the tree. Until she dropped a leg.






We spent the afternoon at Nedas private villa.

6 November Cape Town to Hoedspruit. What idiots we are!!  Four o clock wake up, 4:30 taxi to the airport, coffee ... Then noticing the sign final call as we head to the gate.... Sorry, the gate closed ten minutes ago - that was departure time, not boarding time 🙈🙈 We managed to get a later flight and delay the charter for our arrival in Johannesburg. My first missed flight ever!! To be fair, I'd only had 3.5 hrs sleep and didn't even check my ticket. Bad. Even more embarrassing than missing the flight is that I'm travelling with this... Very happy to have boarded! We arrived 20 minutes early and ran to the shuttle! He raced to the small airport where Neda had food platters, cold beer and champagne waiting for us!! What a relief we've made our flight to Hoedspruit. 10 seater plane, the trip being an hour and a half at 300km ph. We landed and were escorted the short trip to Saseka lodge.
